Designer Discounts in Downtown

If you have ever considered buying from the likes of D&G, Fendi, Cavalli, Burberry or Gucci, the 70% sale may help you in your decision.  I was skeptical at first as Martine dragged me into one shop after another, starting from Beirut Souks to the Aishti area, but was shocked to find the prices very reasonable.  Martine bought a beautiful dress for $200 and I fell in love with a pair of D&G Butterfly look shoes for $235.  Compared to their original prices of $1000 and above, the discounted prices are definitly worth considering for the quality and timeless looks that can be worn for years.

Balima Cafe in Saifi Village

Continuing in our pursuit for all things French, Hala and I decided to stop for a well needed Cafe Latte at Balima Cafe in Saifi Village.  The magnetic allure of Balima is that it’s situated in the middle of Downtown but you would never know it with the calm atmosphere, greenery and beautifully decorated buildings of Saifi Village surrounding you.

The menu is simple consisting of salads, sandwiches, quiches and desserts.  My favorite item on the menu is the Croque Monsieur which is accompanied by a special house salad.   The prices are very reasonable ranging from 10,000LL to 15,000LL for sandwiches.   WIFI internet is free and is quite often used by many people who visit the cafe.

It’s a perfect location for an afternoon coffee or tea with an impressive tea selection including Fleur de The and a variety of French teas in vibrantly colored canisters.

No need for reservation, just stop in whenever in the area.
